Eugenie Scott: What Would
Darwin Say About Creationism?
February 13, 2005, 11:00 a.m.
Five years into the new millennium, more and more school
districts in the U.S. find themselves in a battle with fundamentalists who
seek to have Creationism (aka Intelligent Design) taught in public schools
alongside the Theory of Evolution.
Can religious groups dictate what is taught is science
class? Are they already?
Genie Scott, Executive Director of the
National Center for Science Education, is the nation's leading voice
in the battle for the minds of public school children. On the day after
Darwin's birthday, she will report on the current state of teaching
evolution, and muse over what Darwin himself may have said about the
bible's version of how life developed on this planet.
